This is my first posting on this blog, and it feels pretty uneasy to start from scratch after I've had another blog for like 7 years, and yet, here I am starting all over. I am planning to make an About me page, and fill it with information about who I am and why I'm doing what I'm doing, but for now the gist is: I am a keen scrapbooker, moreover, I consider myself a custom photo album designer. This form of creative art and I have had our ups and downs, but I seem to always come back to it, so I guess it's meant to be. Right now I am 38 weeks pregnant with my first baby, I am super happy about this fact and although everyone keeps trying to scare me how sleep deprived and tired I'm going to be this year, I've decided to be optimistic and to start this blog to showcase my creations and hopefully to find a community of likeminded people in the English-speaking part of the Internet. My old blog primarily written in Russian is here. Everything I made before 2015, is on there. I will keep updating it for some time, but eventually I plan on only having one blog. So if you like it here, please stay, there's no need to go anywhere else. All new stuff will first appear on this space.
So, although 2015 wasn't my most creative year, I still made a few things, which I am going to share in the following posts. Here we go...
Apart from photo albums I also like to make vintage looking journals, like this one which I made for a colleague as her Secret Santa. The pages are from a recycled book, I covered them with white acrylic paint, so you can actually write on top of the print instead of between the lines. There's also lots of recycled lace and some stencilling with gesso. For the bookmark I used a wrinkled ribbon with a key on its end.
I love the way it turned out and begin to wonder why I've only made one so far.
